![]() ![]() There were a lot of cool and original remixes out there, with a variety of different approaches. Step forward Vieille Griffe, who impressed the panel with his piece which felt like it slotted in alongside the already fast-paced beats of the soundtrack. But after a lengthy time spent living the tracks both through the studio’s sound systems and personal headsets, the judges crafted a shortlist of 10 finalists, and from that, a winner. We challenged you to come up with an explosive remix of my track Shake It, with the winner of the competition getting their track onto the full game, to join the heavyweights of the franchise’s blistering audioscape such as The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy.Ĭompetition was fierce, the quality was sublime, which meant tough calls by our panel of judges – picked from Sony’s WorldWide Studios – to make. That aside it's a good collection of amazing racing games and the good aspects of them vastly outweigh those negatives so if anyone hasn't tried it yet I'd recommend it.Īlso I don't have PSVR so can't comment on that aspect of it, but I played Wipeout on PS2 with a display headset and it was amazing so I imagine vr would be a fantastic experience. This summer, we announced that the tracklist for WipEout Omega Collection was missing one special track: yours. Disappointing considering the series' history. The soundtrack is also severely lacking - I seem to hear the same few songs constantly and they're mostly not good. ![]() I'm glad they removed the awful online campaign from 2048 (nice idea but didn't work in practice) but they seem to have reworked some of the solo events to the point where some feel much easier and some feel much harder than the originals, so I'm not keen on the way it's balanced, plus it feels some events are missing entirely (speed laps/tournaments in 2048?) but that might just be me misremembering. Between time trials, A+ challenges and Beat Zico trophies, there's enough challenge to make it exciting (if not slightly infuriating) for perfectionists. They're fast paced and it's insanely satisfying to pull off difficult turns or achieve perfect laps at dizzying speed, and even more satisfying to take out opponents with the power ups (aiming a Plasma perfectly to destroy someone making a turn ahead of you never gets old). I already owned the collection but hadn't put much time into it since I platinumed 2048 on the Vita and played through the HD/Fury campaigns on there too, but the collection coming to PS+ encouraged me to play again and I'm having fun.
